In 2017, Planet X was tasked with growing Tanduay Rum’s presence in the U.S. market. In just two years, Planet X helped Tanduay Rum become the best-selling rum brand in the world (previously the 3rd largest). Key to this growth was Planet X’s efforts in forging historic brand partnerships as Tanduay became the first Filipino company to sponsor an NBA team and arena as The Official Rum of the Brooklyn Nets & The Barclays Center in New York.

Later, Planet X was able to leverage this momentum to make Tanduay The Official Rum of the Golden State Warriors & Chase Arena in San Francisco as well. These partnerships combined with Planet X’s strategic mix of innovative influencer marketing, experiential activations and their establishment of critical distribution networks, drove unprecedented 17% growth in global sales for Tanduay, allowing them to surpass Bacardi as the #1 selling rum in the world for the first time ever.
